LLANDDONA DRWY’R OESOEDD

‘Rydym yn gobeithio archwilio’r rhesymau y tu ôl i enwau fel Crafcoed a Gorslwyd sy’n ffurfio rhan o’r gymuned hon ynghyd ag enwau caeau o fewn y pentref.

Ers cau’r ysgol mae’r cyswllt â’r gorffennol sydd yn dyddio’n ôl i’r 1830au wedi cael ei golli. Mae plant y pentref wedi colli cyswllt gyda rhan o’n gorffennol. Mae cenhedlaeth hŷn y pentref gyda llawer o wybodaeth fydd yn cael ei golli onibai ein bod yn ei gofnodi.  Hoffem allu trosglwyddo’r wybodaeth yma i genedlaethau’r dyfodol.

Os oes gennych unrhyw wybodaeth da chi’n fodlon ei rannu a fyddech chi’n fodlon ein helpu hefo hyn?

Byddwn wedi paratoi lluniaeth i bawb.

LLANDDONA THROUGH THE AGES

We are hoping to explore the reasons behind names such as Crafcoed and Gorslwyd which make up part of this community along with field names within the village.

Since the closure of the school, a link with the past dating back to the 1830s has been lost. Children in the village no longer have a shared past. The older generation within the village have a lot of knowledge that will be lost unless we record it.  We would like to pass this knowledge
on to future generations.

If you have any information that you would be willing to share will you please help us?  .

Llanddona Village Hall update July 2017

The Village Hall Committee is seeking funds to buy the school to replace the dilapidated village hall. This is a lower cost option than trying to renovate or rebuild the hall and will give the community better facilities. We should know by October if we have been successful.

There’s more information below but if you have any other questions, please contact one of the Committee members or ask at one of the Village Hall events.

Background

The village hall is managed by the Llanddona Village Hall Committee, on behalf of the Neuadd Bentref Llanddona Village Hall charitable trust.  The title of the property is held by the Official Custodian for Charities on behalf of the trust. In other words the Charity Commission has a controlling interest over Llanddona village hall.

The trust bought the hall in November 1934 for the purposes of “physical and mental recreation and social moral and intellectual development through the medium of reading and recreation rooms library lectures classes recreations and entertainments…for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Parish of Llanddona.

The trust may dispose of the property providing certain conditions are met. These are that the proposal is put to a meeting of inhabitants of the village and that the majority agrees with the proposal. Money from the sale should be used for the charity’s purposes. The proposal would also have to be approved by the Charity Commissioners.

The School Proposal

The school is up for sale and this has presented the opportunity to relocate the village hall to the former school premises. We have signed an Exclusivity Agreement with the County Council to allow us time to raise the money to buy the school from them.  The agreement has been extended until October 2017.

The cost of purchasing the building is £115,000 (from the District Valuer’s assessment) and an additional £144,000 is required for essential renovation and modernisation to meet current standards. Despite our formal request for a reduction in the price, the Council has stated that it will not consider this as it is required to get best value for any assets it disposes of and does not want to set a precedent to other community groups.

Even so, buying the school would cost less than renovating or rebuilding the present village hall. The school can provide better facilities for a wider range of activities e.g. outdoor play space, choice of different sized rooms, professional kitchen, space for exercise and other classes etc, parking and access for the less able.

Retaining the hall is not a viable option in the long term without a significant input of grant aid, so the opportunity to claim the old school for the community and put the heart back into the village is now or never. The sale of the hall could fund further improvements for new activities and ensure that there is enough money to maintain the school building in good repair.

Funding update

The Village Hall Committee has applied for grants to buy the school and to undertake essential improvements to meet current regulations. So far, we have been offered £20,000 from Garfield Weston Charitable Trust, £45,000 from the Isle of Anglesey Charitable Trust. We have submitted an application to the Big Lottery Fund Rural Programme (decision due in July). We have also been successful in getting through the first stage of two other grants and are in the process of writing these applications (Welsh Government, Rural Programme Communities Fund and the Big Lottery Fund, People and Places Programme). We have applied to the BLF P&P twice before and have not been successful as it is heavily oversubscribed, but we hope that having secured other funding may help our chances this time.

If we are successful in raising enough money to buy the school, we will hold open meetings so that people can give their views on what activities and events they would like to see happening there, but please ask in the meantime if you want any more information or would like to get involved.

We are very grateful for all the support we have had so far.

Diweddariad Neuadd Bentref Llanddona Gorffennaf 2017

Mae Pwyllgor y Neuadd Bentref yn chwilio am gyllid i brynu’r ysgol i gymryd lle adeilad adfeiliedig y neuadd bentref. Mae hyn yn ddewis rhatach na cheisio adfer neu ailadeiladu’r neuadd a bydd yn darparu gwell cyfleusterau i’r gymuned. Fe ddylem wybod erbyn mis Hydref os ydym wedi llwyddo.

Mae rhagor o wybodaeth ar gael isod, ond os oes gennych unrhyw gwestiynau, cysylltwch ag un o aelodau’r Pwyllgor neu holi yn un o ddigwyddiadau’r Neuadd Bentref.

Cefndir

Mae’r neuadd bentref wedi ei rheoli gan Bwyllgor Neuadd Bentref Llanddona, ar ran ymddiriedolaeth elusennol Neuadd Bentref Llanddona Village Hall.  Mae teitl yr eiddo yn cael ei chadw gan y Ceidwad Swyddogol ar gyfer Elusennau ar ran yr ymddiriedolaeth. Mewn geiriau eraill, mae gan y Comisiwn Elusennau fuddiant llywodraethol dros Neuadd Bentref Llanddona.

Prynodd yr ymddiriedolaeth y neuadd yn Nhachwedd 1934 i’r diben o “hamdden gorfforol a meddyliol a datblygiad moesol a deallusol cymdeithasol trwy gyfrwng ystafelloedd darllen a hamdden, llyfrgell, darlithoedd, dosbarthiadau, hamdden ac adloniant… er lles trigolion Plwyf Llanddona.

Gall yr ymddiriedolaeth gael gwared ar yr eiddo ar yr amod y bodlonir amodau penodol. Y rhain yw bod y cynnig yn cael ei gyflwyno gerbron cyfarfod o drigolion y pentref a bod y mwyafrif yn cytuno gyda’r cynnig. Y dylid defnyddio arian o’r gwerthiant tuag at ddibenion yr elusen. Byddai hefyd angen i’r Comisiynwyr Elusen gymeradwyo’r cynnig.

Cynnig yr Ysgol

Mae’r ysgol ar werth sydd wedi cyflwyno cyfle i ail-leoli ‘r neuadd bentref i adeilad yr hen ysgol. Rydym wedi llofnodi Cytundeb Cyfyngu gyda’r cyngor Sir i ganiatáu amser i ni godi’r arian i brynu’r ysgol ganddynt.  Mae’r cytundeb yn parhau hyd at Hydref 2017.

Cost prynu’r adeilad yw £115,000 (o asesiad y Prisiwr Dosbarth) ac mae angen £144,000 yn ychwanegol ar gyfer gwaith adfer a moderneiddio allweddol i fodloni safonau presennol. Er gwaethaf ein cais ffurfiol am ostyngiad ar y pris, mae’r Cyngor wedi datgan na fydd yn ystyried hyn gan ei bod yn ofynnol i gael y gwerth gorau ar gyfer unrhyw asedau mae’n cael gwared arnynt ac nid yw eisiau gosod cynsail ar gyfer grwpiau cymunedol eraill.

Er hyn, byddai prynu’r ysgol yn costio llai nag atgyweirio neu ailadeiladu’r neuadd bentref bresennol. Gall yr ysgol ddarparu gwell cyfleusterau ar gyfer ystod ehangach o weithgareddau e.e. lle i chwarae tu allan, dewis o ystafelloedd o wahanol faint, cegin broffesiynol, lle ar gyfer ymarfer corff a dosbarthiadau eraill ac ati, parcio a mynediad i’r llai abl.

Nid yw cadw’r neuadd yn ddewis dichonadwy yn y tymor hir heb fewnbwn cymorth grant sylweddol, felly dyma gyfle unigryw i hawlio’r hen ysgol ar gyfer y gymuned a dod â chalon y pentref yn ôl. Gallai gwerthu’r neuadd ariannu gwelliannau pellach ar gyfer gweithgareddau newydd a sicrhau bod yna ddigon o arian i gynnal adeilad yr ysgol mewn cyflwr da.

Diweddariad cyllid

Mae Pwyllgor y Neuadd Bentref wedi gwneud cais am grantiau i brynu’r ysgol ac i gyflawni gwelliannau allweddol i fodloni rheoliadau cyfredol. Hyd yma, rydym wedi cael cynnig £20,000 gan Ymddiriedolaeth Elusennol Garfield Weston, £45,000 gan Ymddiriedolaeth Elusennol Ynys Môn. Rydym wedi cyflwyno cais i Raglen Wledig y Gronfa Loteri Fawr (penderfyniad i ddod yng Ngorffennaf). Rydym hefyd wedi bod yn llwyddiannus o ran pasio’r cam cyntaf ar gyfer dau grant arall ac yn y broses o ysgrifennu’r ceisiadau hyn (Llywodraeth Cymru, Cronfa Cymunedau’r Rhaglen Wledig a Rhaglen Pawb a’i Le y Gronfa Loteri Fawr). Rydym wedi gwneud cais i Raglen Pawb a’i Le y Gronfa Loteri Fawr ddwywaith yn y gorffennol ond heb lwyddiant gan fod cynifer o geisiadau, ond gobeithiwn y bydd y ffaith ein bod wedi sicrhau cyllid arall yn helpu ein cais y tro yma.

Os byddwn yn llwyddo i godi digon o arian i brynu’r ysgol, byddwn yn cynnal cyfarfodydd agored er mwyn i bawb gael rhoi barn ar ba weithgareddau a digwyddiadau hoffent weld yn digwydd yno, ond holwch yn y cyfamser os ydych chi eisiau rhagor o wybodaeth neu os hoffech chi gymryd rhan.

Rydym yn ddiolchgar iawn am yr holl gefnogaeth hyd yma.
